The Bug-A-Salt is the newest and certainly the most fun way to get rid of pesky fruit flies and cockroaches. It's a full size plastic, pump action, bug killing machine that will leave you hoping a fly will slip through the window.

I invented that in 1985. I used a worn-out old Daisy air rifle. Even had a special funnel where I melted and bent the tip with a Bic Lighter so I could load it from the breech end.

Yet more missed opportunities at greatness.  :P

Ah, but yours was good old wood and steel. Not these cheap looking polymer salt shotguns we get these days.   :lol:

I recall using my BB gun to plink at dirt dobbers near the pong.  Never used to hit flies.  "Be aware of your target and what is beyond"

I think we might have had a lot of fun with this though.  I guess it works for garden slugs also.

I have killed many flies in the past with homemade primer-only salt rounds out of my Buckmark.
