Nov 7 Riots
« on: August 28, 2012, 12:26:31 PM »
I saw this on facebook, what do guys think ? ???

Let's face it folks, we all know what is going to happen the day after Obama loses on November 6th. Liberals don't take losing well and we have seen how horrible they can be with the Occupy movement. We can fully expect cities to be destroyed, property to be vandalized and riots to occur when they don't get their way. We need to be prepared, and If Obama is any kind of leader he will ask his supporters to act civilized when they lose. the problem is Obama isn't a leader.

Click like if you think that Obama supporters will riot, destroy, vandalize and terrorize when he loses in November...because they can't accept not getting their way!

Yawn.  I'm always ready for the riots, as well as any single person can be.  But your image is ignorant and mildly offensive.

If he loses, his supporters will know they are in the minority, and also in the wrong, and also on the unfriendly side of the law if they decide to liberate TV's and flip cars.

I'll donate a case of 5.56 to my local PD if there are riots in town.  And I typically despise police.

But your premise is wrong, and also tinged with racism.  And I'm not one to pull out the "racist" card with any seriousness... typically it's in jest with a gif like this for stating something sensible that race-pimps on the left tend to hate:

In your case, it's not a joke.

Obama has lost support of many of his prior supporters... lots of athletes that were behind him last time are telling fans to stay away from him in 2012.  Even his monolithic 95% or higher black vote that he takes for granted, cannot be taken for granted.

So... I won't be clicking "like" on your non-link.

Unrelated...

Aztoy, are you on yotatech?  I was looking for some info there (was an early member, but no longer active) and saw the same screen name there.

I'm not yet convinced Obama is going to lose. And even if the popular and electoral vote goes against him I doubt it will be settled by the 7th.

Ah. I really doubt there will be nationwide riots if Obama loses the election. I have few doubts a handful of idiots will try to pull PR stunts, that will be forgotten within days if not hours.

AZRH fell (accidentally?) into the same tired argument that the left automatically resorts to whenever Obama is criticized: Obama is black, therefore anyone who criticizes him is only doing so because he's black and they are latent racists, no matter what message their criticism contains.

In this case the criticism is directed at liberals with no mention of race, but with 5 years of the left constantly bombarding us with the race card specific to Obama, it's easy to see how one can accidentally lapse into such an assumption.

I don't have to work on the 7th or 8th.  Back to work on the 9th.   But I have a feeling that since I work in a fairly large urban environment, depending on how things are going, my AR will be under the seat of my truck in defiance of company policy.

I think that there are people on BOTH sides of the aisle that would love nothing more than a conflict to erupt to get an excuse to clamp down on freedoms, pump up the Government and further the Police State.

Ah.  Gotcha.  There's no link to follow to determine what's quoted content and what is the OP's opinion.

OP: If you're gonna quote someone, then:

Quote from: me this time, but could be someone else if I were actually quoting someone
... please use the quote feature so we don't attribute their words to your voice.

From the FB quoted material:

Quote

Meh.  Occupiers aren't a big deal.  They haven't razed any cities or salted the earth or anything like that.

Quote
We can fully expect cities to be destroyed, property to be vandalized and riots to occur when they don't get their way.

This is straight-up Los Angeles and NOLA effects.

Even the worst of the Seattle WTO "riots" only broke a few windows.  Seattle WTO protests and G8/G20/G-whatever protests are the cornerstone on which the Occupy movement draws its "talent."

The OP implies LA and Katrina style rioting and looting.  Which brings race into play.

. . . Is liberal a race now?
It's becoming one of the new ethnicities, like "Illegals."

If BHO loses, I've little doubt that we'll see some sporadic urban unrest in a few places, but I'll be astonished if it's very widespread. My guess is that, as is usually the case, it will be largely confined to the areas where the restless reside.

L.A. race riots weren't the first thing that came to mind when I read it. A mental image of OWS types going French rioter style did. So I disagree. *shrug*

I hope they do, I'd like the ugly truth exposed. Otherwise we wait 4 years and then American liberalism tries to get back in with soft fuzzy feelings. Eventually they will be impossible to dislodge. The modern left are comprised of either committed radicals who want to bring communism here or useful idiots of many different shades.

OWS-style riots would not play very well in most parts of America.  There are a lot of people with arms who might feel motivated to strike back with extreme prejudice.  I don't think the OWS crowd is really ready to risk death for their beliefs; right now they are operating at the tantrum level.

It was reasonable to beware of riots after Obama won, at least on his home turf (look what happens in Chicago, when the Bulls win the championship, or whatever it's called). It is likewise reasonable to be prepared for riots, if he loses.

Yeah, they may not have happened last time. They may not happen if he loses this year. Still a reasonable expectation, though.

The line in the sand, unspoken, is you don't cross into "alien neighborhoods."  They know that.  They can trash their own hood or parts of "downtown," but anything beyond that will likely prove...counter-productive.

AZRH fell (accidentally?) into the same tired argument that the left automatically resorts to whenever Obama is criticized: Obama is black, therefore anyone who criticizes him is only doing so because he's black and they are latent racists, no matter what message their criticism contains.

Bah, nothing more complex than finally being able to hit someone else over the head with the same club he's been hit on the head with by lefties.  Many conservatives/libertarians just love to whack someone else with the "racist" club, too, and jump at the opportunity to swing away.  Not the first time it has happened here or elsewhere when discussing politics.

Not every topic that makes one feel uncomfortable because it challenges internal & often subconscious left-wing values/attitudes makes the poster a racist.

A legitimate response from the OP, who didn't even mention race, is something along the lines of, "Kiss my fourth point of contact, or get your head out of your own," in response to the personal attack and violation one of the few APS rules there are.

FTR, I doubt the premise of the OP and doubt cities will be destroyed.  If BHO wins or loses some of his supporters will riot and vandalize.  Because that is what they do  (see any of the various sport team championships and riots in the WINNING town).  I would bet dollars to donuts it is unorganized and confined to their own neighborhoods.  At the worst, it will effect adjoining neighborhoods.  In the event that such rioters go about the city, it will be largely in blue, "gun-controlled" cities...who will then reap what they have sown.
