I will continue my Halloween tradition.
Just after dark screw a bulb in the socket by the back door (it's at the end of the driveway). Set up my small table and lawn chair. Put the big stainless steel bowl on the table, and fill it with the same Hershey's chocolate bar I have been using for the last (mumble) years.
Sit in my lawn chair, under the light, next to the table with the big stainless steel bowl full of chocolate, cleaning my shotgun.
A few years ago I had a cop pull up the driveway with his takedown light on. I offered him a (the?) candy bar. He said he was on duty.
I'm on a corner lot, at the end of a street with a large apartment complex taking up the last two thirds of the other side of the street. Folks are walking from the apartments to the three convenience stores two blocks away at all times of the day and night. Folks, for some reason, do not cut across my lawn. They walk all the way around the corner - often sticking close to the opposite curb. I do not get a lot of trash thrown on my lawn or in the ditch around my place - but it does seem to show up across the street and down the block.
I love Halloween. You get to see all the folks in the neighborhood.
stay safe.
