I was doing some URL inquiries and decided to check on Winchester now that Mossberg is looking to buy them. Would you believe that ...

Winchesterarms.com is coming up with an error on the search through Network Solutions (don't know why)

WRAC.com is registered, but registrar-locked with no other information available

Winchesterfirearms.com is registered to someone in Karachi?!

It's fairly common for someone to register names similar to a famous brand and then when the real company wants to use the url they try to extort money from them to be able to use their own name.

FYI, the actual website for Winchester is http://www.winchesterguns.com and I think at one time it was usrac.com since the actual company is U. S. Repeating Arms.
