A good friend of mine was getting punked by the USAF (he is in the ANG) over a medical condition. Trying to get him out even though it was taken care of and in no way affected his ability to work.
So he appealed and won. And somehow this enabled him to be promoted to Tech-SGT (E-6). This means that he can retire with his full 30 at a higher grade and get all the benefits thereof.
I'm not nor have I ever been in the military so understanding some of what he told me, all the ins-n-outs of military procedures, is difficult; but it all worked out for him and that is all that matters.
