Beretta: Might move away from Maryland
« on: February 25, 2013, 09:57:24 AM »
http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/berettas-future-in-maryland-tied-to-states-gun-control-debate/2013/02/23/bcc56c62-7776-11e2-95e4-6148e45d7adb_story.html

Maryland thinks banning mags over 10rds, and scary rifles, is a good idea.

Beretta is in MD.

Beretta might move.

It'd be really nice to see Beretta add themselves to the Barrett, BCM, RRA et. al. list, and write off the couple hundred of pistols they sell to LAPD and other police in deference to the firearms community activism going on.  They'll lose the US market through legislative attrition, otherwise.
"But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist."

Virginia and PA are both short drives from Accokeek. We'd love the jobs. One more nail in the coffin of awesome that is PG county.

There's also the lost business tax revenue. One less corporation to subsidize the socialist utopia.

I hope they end up in New Hampshire or Vermont, I'd love to work for them and I might need to bail on Connecticut soon.

Please, Beretta, move to a free state!
Please, please, please!

Oh and start making 92 Elite I's again- I was too poor to afford one when they were in production and had to settle for a 92.

Way to go, Beretta

I'm sure some in the gun community will find something to complain about though... ;/ [popcorn]

If all these gun companies suddenly start supporting the 2A, I'm going to have a hard time buying something from all of them

Please move to Virginia.  Better yet, move somewhere just west of Manassas so I can get a job there and commute opposite of the traffic flows. :D

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

So is this a done deal yet? Has the legislation been signed? The linked article implies it's already happened, but the sources are all from Feb and just Beretta threatening to move.

I'd rather have it right off I66 around the area of The Plains. :D

Plenty of open space for a factory and plenty of nearby hunting for testing and development...

A birdy mentioned to me a while ago that if they did actually move, that it would be to Virginia.

I'm inclined to agree VA is the most likely place.

I regret selling my 92FS I bought to use as a training aid for military sidearms. I'll buy another just to get one of the first ones that doesn't say Accokeek on it.

That is what I heard also, they also hinted at in the article by saying that they already have some operations in VA.

I wish one of the major firearms manufactures would move to IA. We have a lot available buildings and site to build one. Also decent infrasture to move materials in and out. Tons of community colleges to train workers and pretty generous tax savings to attract buisiness to the state.

I don't know if they qualify as major, but your .gov ought to be aggressively courting the ones in IL.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I hope they move to Texas. I'd love to buy a Beretta made in Italy....

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italy,_Texas

Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.

Well, you got Les Baer, good catch. Someone out to lobby Springfield Armory and Armalite to get out of Illicooky too.
