What's a reputable large file transfer site?
« on: February 28, 2013, 11:03:45 PM »
Free, reputable, etc.

Mrs. Dual needs to send some family video that's about 500mb in size to another relative.

Dropbox still popular/ok?

Dropbox is free for up to 2GB, you can add a file then generate a link to give people to download said file.

I'll second dropbox
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

I've been happy with Dropbox, and when I was on the pastor search committee for my church the diocese used Dropbox to distribute qualifications and candidate packages to committee members. It worked quite well.

IIRC, there's some gimmick about if you get other people to sign up, you get extra storage capacity (or something like that). I'm not 100 percent certain on that -- memory is fuzzy.

Google Docs.

I just set up a free E-Vault account, 100Gb for the asking.  It's a cloud backup, vs. file transfer, but very nice for the price.

Oh... We already use that. Good idea. Dropbox is still reputable, but for whatever reason it froze Mrs. Dual's machine hard. And we uninstalled their client.
