The UN is just peeved that they did not get the chance to send in their peace keepers to molest^H^H^H^H^H PROTECT the young children of New Orleans post Katrina.

Read the tenor of the comments.

I don't think the members of the committee really understand the idea of a Republic, with sovereign states and a federal government that is not all-powerful.

It seems common for these NGO's and the UN to constantly aim their comments at the US federal gov. rather than the true responsible parties, the states and localities.

If they were talking about the dictatorships that make up half the committee or the socialist tyrannys that make up the rest their comments might make more sense.

I can't believe our own citizens and gov. officials (libs) are so ignorant of our own system of government as to give these representatives of archaic political systems the time of day or any credibility.

Well we could do the approach of most of the world. Door to door raids to move people. Think the UN would approve if 100k troups showed up before the storm and forced everyone in Southern LA and MI at gunpoint to evacuate?

Yes, they would probably help provide the troops.

I think that the attitude of the UN towards "african americans" is interesting. Most of *our* government doesnt draw a lot of lines between different "types" of Americans. The UN hasnt figured this out yet. They have a nice long history of offering different treatment towards people based on what "kind" of person they are. I suppose that they must assume that everyone else does too.

For the record, this is one of the things that makes america *better* than a lot of other countries.

Yeah. I was about to ask what differentiates regular "poor" people from black people. Did the government prevent all the middle-class black folks from leaving nawlins while whitey made his getaway? As though being black automatically makes one a victim and incapable of doing anything. What a load of horsefeathers.

Speaking of the UN talking any kind of trash about the United States' responses, I wonder how many national guardsmen one had to get raped by in order to get one's cot at the Superdome, huh? I wonder how many times one had to prostitute one's children to FEMA or Red Cross or various national service aid workers to get a good meal? I wonder how many billions of dollars that moron who was running FEMA before katrina managed to skim from the funds for feeding the refugees?

Wait, what's that? Zero? None? Not any? Oh, well. I guess we're doing a DAMN sight of a better job than the UN could ever hope to.

The UN "chastizing" the US about "human rights" is like a rapist-murderer waggling his finger at me for dropping the F-bomb while there're ladies present.
