Angry bird is attacking my patio door.
« on: July 08, 2013, 06:53:20 PM »
I have this yellow bird on my patio that keeps attacking my patio door- banging its beak against the glass from sunup to sunset. It was amusing for the first day, but has been doing this for about 4 days now. Any way to make it stop that doesn't in some way take it out of the gene pool?

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Sounds like the bird will take itself out of the gene pool if it keeps scrambling its brains.

A neighbor once suggested I cut a length of hose about as long as a snake and use that to scare off birds.  You might try that .... or find a rubber snake that actually looks like a real one.
Dunno if  it'll work for you.

Had that with a blue jay in an apartment I once lived in.  Every morning. Bird was attacking its own reflection.  Ended up taping a shadow shape of a bird to the glass (black paper cut in the shape of a shadow a bird would leave on the ground if flying overhead.).  It stopped.

Tape a picture of a green, mustached pig to the door.  They are the nemesis of Angry Birds.

Actually an old Army Cadence:

A yellow bird
with a yellow bill
sat up upon
my windowsill
I lured him in
with a piece of bread
and then I smashed
his yellow head

A little bird
with little feet
sat up upon
my toilet seat
I pushed him in
and flused him down
and that little bird
went round and round

A bigger bird
with a bigger bill
sat up upon
my window sill
I lured him in
with a bigger bread
and then i smashed in
his bigger head
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Castle Key had that for awhile at his house.

The bird finally went away. Not sure, but the large hornet's nest he reported the other week might have had a lot to do with it.

Or he simply may have shot it.

No that only encourages the bird to keep trying... Move the picture elsewhere.

Good thing it's a yellow one, that dislikes your glass door.

The yellow ones are good at ruining wood, but leave something to be desired when it comes to breaking glass.

If a blue one doesn't like your window, look out.   :O

Me either.  And I was forbidden from calling cadence entirely after sounding that one off as we ran past a busy intersection right before church on a sunday morning run.
Just sayin.

I used to go to this place to service the A/C and there was a crazy neighbor goose that would always peck at his reflection in my chrome bumper when I was there. Apparently that was a good thing, they told me if he didn't have the bumper to peck at he would have been pecking at ME!  :O
