The Cons...
1) Low Energy Nuclear Reaction is the new catchphrase they came with when "cold fusion" had run its course.
2) The "Journal of Nuclear Physics" is Rossi's own creation, believed by many to be his solution for having a place to publish his work after more traditional scientific journals told him to pound sand.
3) There is very little in the way of objective, disinterested third-party verification, mostly the result of Rossi's lockdown on the technology for, as he claims, "patent protections".
I see some interest among the mainstream scientific community, but liberally laced with skepticism pending the release of any results not directly generated by Rossi. The science has some basis in mainstream physics, and that alone is driving much of the interest. Time will tell, and Rossi would do well to allow independent verification of his results lest he be branded yet another cold fusion kook.
