I use the Lubri-Plate on slides of semi-autos and for hammer/sear interfaces, but not in a puny syringe like that. I bought a can of it from Brownells, which I expect will last the rest of my lifetime and should survive several grandchildren. The stuff I bought
IS the stuff the Army used for the M14 rifle -- the stuff in this kit is not.
http://www.brownells.com/gun-cleaning-chemicals/oils-lubricants/lubricant-protectant-oils/lubriplate-130-a-mil-spec-grease-prod6525.aspxFor oil I use Castrol Syntec 5W50 synthetic motor oil with a small amount of super-fine powdered molybdenum disulphide mixed in. For touch-up at the range, I carry a syringe of Gunbutter in my range bag.
So these people want you to spend $19 for two tiny syringes of the wrong grease plus FOUR whole ounces of oil, when you can buy a lifetime (plus) supply of the correct grease for ten bucks and a quart of Castrol at any Wal-Mart for about $6.50 -- even with tax and shipping, you can get a lifetime supply for this kit costs.
P.T. Barnum would be proud.
