Recovering files from micro-sd cards
« on: October 21, 2013, 04:45:46 PM »
Recently I had two separate micro-sd cards fail suddenly. One was an old phone I was just using as a tablet, the other was my work phone. I didn't have great backups on either for pictures etc because they weren't my primary phone was I was less cognizant about that. Anyway to recover the files without going all CSI on them?

Although that brings up the point, if there is relatively cheap and available software to do this: anyone who own such software want to extract if for me, for a fee < the $50 the software costs?

Don't know if either one works or not.

photorec works (if the pc sees the memory stick as there, but doesn't see a file system).

I've had good luck with
http://www.z-a-recovery.com
Used it a few times and gotten 99% of the pics on an SD card back.
