Unpossible.  The TV taught me that the Revolutionary and Civil Wars were fought in color, but everyone agreed that WWI would be fought in greyscale.  Color was only approved for WWII in scenes featuring John Wayne.

Actually AZRH44, it's well known that the world turned to color about 1/2 way through The Wizard of Oz.

That means WWII could happen in color.

As for the stuff Ben posted, that's Ted Turner's doing.   =D

"That means WWII could happen in color."

Much of the combat film that was shot by armed forces cameramen during World War II WAS in color.

But the prints made from it for newsreel distribution were black and white (because color was so much more difficult and expensive at the time, I guess).

Man, that guy can't keep his hands off anything!

You touch Jane Fonda, you lose all inhibition.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

They keep making this eternal vigilance thing harder and harder.  Protecting the 2nd amendment is like playing PACMAN - there's no pause button so you can go to the bathroom.

Having been to Verdun and spent several days touring the battlefield, the picture of Verdun in ruins was jarring, as it is a lively and vibrant city (at least in 1991), while a few miles out side the city the country side still bears the scars of war.

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

I wish more of them were actually true color photographs and not colorized versions of the B&W and sepia originals.  There are a couple that look to be vintage-process, but the rest are pretty obviously post-photo retouched in color.  It was common in the day, but kinda ruins the "rare color photograph" vibe.
