Ferguson, the jerk judge who sentenced a teacher to only 30 days for statutory rape of one of his students, also sentenced the guy to jail for the maximum period he could under law for the misdemeanor assault, ordered the man pay the woman's medical bills associated with the assault, and gave him the 'writing lines' punishment.
In short, he threw the book at the guy. Maybe he learned from his earlier actions, maybe there were different mitigating and confounding circumstances between the two cases.
That the other judge determined it to also be a parole violation was a seperate legal consideration. Nice of them to compress it to one day for both cases...
