Quote
Ferguson made two appearances in court on Monday.

After being sentenced by Baugh, Ferguson appeared before District Judge Gregory R. Todd for a disposition hearing. The judge ruled that Ferguson had violated the terms of his release from prison after a 2003 robbery conviction and ordered the man to spend eight years in state prison. ....

What's trhat they say about Karma?

Most of the article is about the jerk judge who sentenced a teacher to 30 days for raping a student.  Also about "writing lines" as punishment.  But wht kicked over my gigglebox is that some other judge realized what a dirtbag the dirtbag (not thje judge, the other dirtbag) was.

If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Not sure what you'r trying to get at here?

Ferguson, the jerk judge who sentenced a teacher to only 30 days for statutory rape of one of his students, also sentenced the guy to jail for the maximum period he could under law for the misdemeanor assault, ordered the man pay the woman's medical bills associated with the assault, and gave him the 'writing lines' punishment.

In short, he threw the book at the guy.  Maybe he learned from his earlier actions, maybe there were different mitigating and confounding circumstances between the two cases.

That the other judge determined it to also be a parole violation was a seperate legal consideration.  Nice of them to compress it to one day for both cases...

It's the intersection of events.  30 days plus a childish "writing lines" punishment, followed by revocation of probation because of his jerk behavior in beating up his girlfriend.

It's too bad there is almost no chance of him seeing himself as the cause of all his troubles, but I enjoyed the rare event of everything coming crashing down on his head all at once.

Could be because at the moment I was (still am) up to my eyeballs in trying to help clean up after some jerkwad's mini-tornao of petulance and temper tantrum.

Oh, it's about the criminal, not the judge.  BTW, it's not 30days + writing lines, it's six months plus the writing lines.  Which is the maximum for the crime he committed.  Which was then indeed followed up by the parole violation hearing that slapped him with 8 years in addition.

Right.  Apparently I confused the criminal with the teacher.  So, given that, where's my paycheck from NYT?
