Fireball in the sky
« on: December 27, 2013, 01:31:29 PM »
I saw this one blow up on Dec 26 at 5:42pm.

I was driving back from one of my deer places and having a shitty day. No deer, broken 4x4 hub and backed into a pole (=creased bumper). Then I was greeted by the fireball as I was driving north, I saw it explode but I had the radio on so I didn't hear the sonic boom.

Ain't that the one that destroyed the Earth awhile back?
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

Unless that's you under another screen name, there was at least one Arfcommer in MN who also saw it last night.  =)

Being out and about 5 nights a week I usually manage to see 4-5 a month. Of course the nights that the Geminids or the Perseid showers peak it always seems to be cloudy or I get stuck inside somewhere.

A few years ago during the persid shower I saw one that exploded and the flash was bright enough all I could see was spots and I had to pull off the road for a few minutes.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I did see a green one (i forget whats it called) on my birthday (dec 4) thing was coming almost straight down in front of me about a half a mile down the road.
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

Smoke on the water
Politicians and bureaucrats are considered productive if they swarm the populace like a plague of locust, devouring all substance in their path and leaving a swath of destruction like a firestorm. The technical term is "bipartisanship".

Saw one some years back one night that lit up the cloud it passed behind/through. I also remember seeing one breaking apart MANY years back when we were out camping.

I remember several years ago, while driving truck (about 1 o'clock A.M. IIRC) seeing the sky light up to the West and it turned out a meteor had exploded over Nebraska, and I was in Michigan.

Seems appropriate, considering his sig line.  =D

What's scary is I understood much of it.

Freaky scary.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.
