The only thing I ever heard him mention was the way he would put the dirt into the gas tank of the trucks. I don't think he considered what he did to be especially brave, just something he could do and get away with. Maybe he was being modest, or maybe he didn't want to be seen as bragging, especially knowing what others endured in the Hanoi Hilton. He did talk about relying on your fellow prisoners, developing communication between the prisoners, and following the chain of command, among a lot of other things.
