Bad News, Good News.
« on: May 14, 2014, 02:31:56 PM »
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Good thing I'm already a hoarder, thanks to damn Costco and their deals on various killer small batch whiskey.

The money quote from the article:

Quote
Which would've been great if, 10 years ago, someone had gone around to all the whiskey producers and told them that they really ought to up their production and storage by 20% to compensate for some mystical time when every hipster worth his mustache and tiny hat would be drinking Redbreast and Pappy like water.

Great - I started drinking because I couldn't afford ammo

Hmmm. I just inherited a bunch of Ducks Unlimited decanters full of Jim Beam from my Grandmother's estate.
Does 30-40 years of aging in a ceramic container do anything to make Jim Beam drinkable?

Sprite or Coke will help the flavor of Jim Beam.

Don't worry hipsters will figure out some way to ruin good tasting whiskey like they ruined good tasting beer. I wonder what the hipsters will push for, hops in the Bourbon? Coriander? Chamomile?

Who wants my booze money?  Diabeetus says I cannot have booze.  And I'm not going to hoard it as barter stuff for TEOTWAWKI.

I'm putting all my money for that into precious metals - Pb and Cu.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Also, as of this moment, there is very little we can do about it.

Except, of course, to begin hoarding immediately.

Good thing I've been on a rum kick for a while now.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
