The problem with the holster market is...
« on: May 23, 2014, 07:53:13 PM »
...black clips, people.

Any holster-maker that offers metal belt clips, offers them in one color: black. Even if I go looking for brown metal clips, to purchase separately, I come up with bupkis. Brown kydex clips are out there (if you want kydex), but most holster-ers aren't offering them. Just black.

This makes no sense, and everyone knows it. Belts are brown. Holsters are brown. I mean, sure, there are some people that wear black leather. Police, military, unkempt bikers, and fetishists. But normal people get their leather in brown. So what gives?

I blame Obama.

Brown belts - especially Sam Browne style with the cross-strap.

Brown holster.

Brown shirt.

Hard to tell at a distance if it's a Deputy Sheriff or some other brand of JBT.

stay safe.

I get cranky when a belt or holster is not available in black.  Because, to quote fistful's favorite actor, "Always bet on black."

I could be wrong, but I just don't see that working out well.

I think this guy has the right idea, for a tuckable holster, but I'd prefer solid leather; no snaps. I might see if I can get a local guy to make some loops like that I can screw onto my White Hat. (No, I won't trust myself to stitch it.) I'd like to have leather loops that look unremarkable against my belt, but also have no snap or screw at the top.

Those wings on the side, that the snaps are affixed to -- I hope there's some stiffener in there.  It won't last long if not.

(I'm now working out what works for carry, and what doesn't, for me.  Some things are unexpected.  I may post on that.  I predict some changes in the collection.   And, yeah, no one notices.)

Don't know about the stiffener. Here's the source:

Don't care about the rest of the holster. I just like how the loops are stitched at the top, instead of having all that snap business getting in the way of concealment. 'Course, they ruin it with the snaps on the front.
