Scopes are cheap compared to camera lenses. I used to think they were expensive until I got into photography; now a $500 scope seems like a bargain.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

There have been some reviews GUSHING about that scope, comparing it favorably to scopes costing 3x as much. I should have an idea of how it is friday
I'VE had a SS for a few years now on my F-class rig.  While a 10x scope isn't ideal fir f-class, its good enough for me to learn with. Most importantly, the scope is solid and the adjustments are  perfectly repeatable. I used to think scopes had to have a gold ring on them to be worth buying, but I'd rather  buy SWFA products in the future.

Here's mine mounted on a Savage 10FP. I used a 20moa base
Which turns out to be extraneous with the amount of adjustment available in the scope.

I was/am a fan of the SWFA SS scopes, but I have converted to Vortex scopes.  A bit more money, but better (to me) options.
