The cannon/Nikon debate is almost as bad as the glock/1911 debate.

The both have comparable products, but since you already have 1 Nikon you might as well get another (kind of like the 1911) then you can share lenses and other accessories.
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

Might be a SWMBO issue...   ;)

I'll probably even violate the sacred rule and get the wife's  D90 out and play with it some. I've pretty well left that one as her domain. She gets pissy when I use her stuff and show her up.

I prefer Canon myself. Nikon is also good.

Whatever brand you go with, photoediting software as discussed above is really helpful, as is shooting in RAW.

If you're Sam's Club member I just got a mail flyer showing $350 off the EOS 70D bundle. SKU #690592.

Which is why I like Sony.  Tons of excellent Minolta AF glass available cheap, and having the stabilization in the body makes 'em all stabilized.

I've been looking at options some more. Seems Nikon lenses tend to run a little bigger on objective lense size running 67mm on the filter thread ring. Canon looks like 58mm for the same level of lense. I've got a buttload of 58mm filters.

Played with the wife's Nikon D90 some yesterday.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
