The kings men are no more valuable or worthy of protection than any random man.  Same thing with with the kings especial pets of color.

Is not there something in the cotus about special classes of folk?

So hate crime laws extend special protection to oppressed minorities? Religious minorities, racial groups, police officers - wait, what?!  ???

Wait, what? Did they all live in the bad part of Chicago?

As for the main part of the OP, no. Just no. However I guarantee you'll see pols from both sides of the aisle coming together on this "for safety". It will be funny to watch what Republicans who are otherwise against "hate crime" laws do. It will also be fun to watch the black caucus when their "hate crime" laws are promoted for a group they dislike.

Okay, there were 50 officers killed with guns according to this article.

So let me put on my cipherin' hat and...carry the two... comes to 263(ish), we'll call 264 gun deaths.   


Hmmm, I'm pretty sure Chicago beat that number all by ourselves...

They are still just pulling numbers out of their fourth point of contact...

Not trying to godwin* this thread, but I think another country went down this exact same path before, with tragic results.



*Not that I care, the godwin character is a socialist whose only defense against against nazis correctly being connected to socialism was to declare the nazi arguments invalid......the nazis would be proud.
