Try some Black Seal Demarara rum. Wonderful. The best bargain in dark rums is Bacardi.

Myers is OK. That's it. It is over-priced and over-hyped.

Mount Gay is awesome. Try it with some tonic and a wedge of lime. Many a regatta were sailed as I sipped my Mount Gay.

Compared to good rums, Mt Gay is barely mediocre. Try Ron Zacapa Centenario, from Guatamala. 23 years old, and as smooth as a baby's butt. Considered by the cognoscenti, to be the finest Rum in the World.

Rum and I were friends once apon a time. Nixon was in the White House. That may have been part of the reason (were I to have had much claim to reason then - who knows).

For some reason I'm reminded of the time in the PI where some guys took the meekest, most mild mannered guy we had and fulled him up with 151. He thought he was drinking shots of regular old rum. Well, this guy went on a wild assed rampage tha culminated in him telling the Captain (Jolly Roger) to pretty much stuff it and he put his pants on the same way everybody else did, etc etc...

The only thing that saved him from the wrath of JR was the fact that it was so comical to hear this kind of stuff coming out of this particular guy. So they all just laughed about it, put the drunk watch on him and let him sleep it off. Needless to say the next day he was a bit more sheepish than usual. cheesy

Years ago I had some Myer's Platinum White rum.....Nirvana.

Haven't been able to find any since the '80's.

Anybody know where I can find any?
