Yeah. Good source of alibi guns.  Ten guns go in the box, officers come by to pick them up, five show up at the station house...

I do think it is a set of problems waiting to happen, but I have to at least applaud them for at least trying to focus on actual illegal/criminal guns rather than guns owned by law abiding citizens.

I wonder how long it would take for some criminals to steal or break into a drop box.

Also I wonder what might happen if someone deposits a cocked and loaded revolver into a box?

On FB when this popped up I stated that criminals regularly break into closed stores, chain ATM's to their car/truck and drag them out/off to break into at their leisure. Do you really think these boxes won't scream "Free Guns!" to that ilk?
