The APS Saturday Night Mud Fight Thread

Rules:

1)  One topic per weekend.

2)  Topic must be completely irrelevant and something totally stupid (i.e. jumping into a gator infested retention pond at night in full police duty kit to save three drowning teenage car thieves.)

3)  This thread will be opened with a new subject/topic by "Banzai" Ben on Saturday evenings (time is up to him) and locked again on Sunday Afternoons.  (unless he designates otherwise.)

4) Everyone must begin their post with their wrestling war-cry and then sign their posts with their APS wrestling name.

5)  Any other rules Ben wants

Okay, since Scout "volunteered" me, I guess we'll give the Saturday night mud fights a go and see if we can make it a whole weekend without a thread lock or banschwerk.

In addition to Scout's rules, just keep in mind we're a family forum, so while good natured ribbing is expected and part of the fun, please stay well away from NSFW stuff.

Alright you pencil-neck geeks and grit eatin' freaks! Tonight's irrelevant mud fight topic is hats. I am playing on team fedora. Neckbeards wear trilbys, men wear fedoras. Even when neckbeards wear fedoras, they're still wearing trilbys. Unless you're Frank Sinatra, don't wear a trilby. Anyone that thinks different is a backwards baseball cap wearing redneck!

Gotta disagree.  older style hats had way more function, along with looking good.  I bounce between an Aussie outback hat in the cooler months and while riding horses,  to a crushable straw Stetson for farm work when it's hot.  Both are really practical and look good IMO.

I DON'T currently have a Fedora for the reasons you mentioned,  the neckbeards have ruined them.  Same reason I don't wear any of my old issue boonie hats,  there's an associated stereotype i want nothing to do with,  even if they are great hats.

The Fedora worn with a proper (non-Hunter Orange) business suit is a good, classic look.   I wouldn't know what a trilby is if it bit me on my backside.   Baseball hats are to worn to keep the sun out of one's eyes, with the bill curved along with all the tag and labels removed.

And yes, I too had (have?) a porkpie hat from my Blues Brothers Days.

It's time for me to retire from the ring, so I'll leave with this tidbit.

If you want to know what hats are good and what hats are not, figure out which hat the pretty chick steals and wears when you are out and about.
If hat is stolen, chick wants your attention because you're looking good with or without head wear. If hat is not stolen, either you are a neckbeard with no hope anyway or your hat game needs improvement.
