Gabby was given another chance at life -- and at service. So this fall, we traveled across the country to campaign for candidates up and down the ballot who have supported common-sense gun violence prevention policies.

I'm sure the losers you "helped" were all suitably grateful.

We met some really interesting people along the way -- gun owners, law enforcement officers, veterans -- and we learned that they, too, are fed up with our nation's gun violence crisis.

Were they really fed up with "gun" vioelce, or were they just fed up with violence being portrayed as "gun" violence?

How dangerous is this crisis? Every year, about 33,000 Americans die from gun violence. Americans are nearly 20 times more likely to be murdered with a gun than people in other high-income peer countries.

A nice little statistic that ignore the fact that some of those other countries actually have higher rates of crime, violent crime, and murder. But the violence and murder in those countries isn't carried out with guns. Which seems to demonstrate to anyone with a brain that guns aren't the problem.

Heck, as of 2012 the U.S. didn't even make the top ten list for national murder rate:

I have always been curious, since I have never seen a gun control/gun death rate article that examines the influence of trauma care on the rate.  The US, in conjunction with many other First World countries, have good trauma care systems, although there is regional variation.  Many people who are shot in the US live who would die in other countries.
