Senate silences Lizzie Warren
« on: February 08, 2017, 11:14:04 AM »
It's about time.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/elizabeth-warren-silenced-jeff-sessions-debate-coretta-scott-king/

My e-mail to the senator from Massachusetts:

Quote
Dear Senator Warren:

You are an unbelievable hypocrite. Ignoring your tawdry history of claiming Native American status for years and then, when called on it, claiming you didn't know that was on your resume, your actions with regard to Senator sessions nomination are inexcusable.

You stated that you are concerned that Mr. Sessions won't stand up the President Trump "when" he breaks the law. First, you are assuming (pre-judging) that President Trump will break the law. That alone is a statement unbecoming of a United States senator. The real irony, however, is that you didn't seem to have any similar concerns about either Eric Holder or Loretta Lynch, neither of whom in any way stood up when former President Obama broke the law.

Madam, you are a disgrace to the United States Senate.

Maybe there was an ulterior motive to old tin Lizzy's move.

Along with that she is coming up for re-election in 2018 and her approval ratings are not all that good. The Republicans believe she is one of the ones they have a good chance of knocking off. We can only hope so. She would fit right in as the DNC Chair so she would still have a job. :)

Judging by the number of news articles I saw about this, I suspect they might have done better to 'silence' her by ignoring her. She did this for attention and they gave it to her. It's not like her little speech was going to change anything.
In the moral, catatonic stupor America finds itself in today it is only disagreement we seek, and the more virulent that disagreement, the better.

That was my first thought, but I heard Krauthammer express an interesting idea. If Mitch McConnell is thinking far ahead, this was a good move. It gives Warren lots of attention, sympathy, and money. It helps position her for a run in 2020. If the Republicans can help maneuver her into the front spot in the Dem party, 2020 will be a cakewalk.

Now, does McConnell think that far ahead?

Maybe, but then Hillary and the MSM thought the same thing about Trump...

It was a thing of beauty watching my liberal friend's heads explode today on Facebook over how the horrid R senate leader trampled upon all women by shutting up Warren.  Heck I even got to see the meltdown from some friends that I didn't even know were on Facebook.  (I wonder why they never friended me? snicker)
