There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Only the dead have seen the end of war!

I think I read about that in Reader's Digest in the mid-1990s.
Carbon Monoxide, sucking the life out of idiots, 'tards, and fools since man tamed fire.

Reminds me of the story, apparently documented, of the pilot who needed to make an emergency landing and to burn up as much fuel as possible before attempting a landing.  He could not drop one of the drop tanks, and pulled his sidearm out and after a couple of tries, punched a hole in it to let the fuel drain out.

That is one downright scarey story!   Turns my blood to ice!

There was also a case a while ago when unbeknownst to the intructor, a student pilot did not fasten his seat belt.

He fell out during an inverted exercise.

Something like 5000 feet, don't remember exactly.

But plenty of time to do an Act of Contrition, two Our Fathers, and ten Hail Maries.  And another Act of Contrition.
