Interstate drivers

I drove up to the Twin Cities for New Years Eve. On the way up and on the way back people kept driving in the inside lane and refused to drive in the outside lane. Sometimes these folks were driving under the speed limit. Why can't people just keep right except to pass when on rural interstates.
I can see people driving the middle lane in an urban interstate just to avoid merging traffic but just leave that inside lane for passing. All those d**kheads who constantly drive the inside lane do is bottle up traffic.
grrrr

This was your first time to the Twin Cities? That's how they drive there.

Not my first trip, I actually lived up there for a summer 10 years ago. I see people drive on the interstates like I mentioned here in Iowa also.

Blocking traffic is certainly a no-no. But if that rural interstate is more or less empty, it really doesn't matter who's in what lane.

This country would do good to take a few lessons in licensing from the Germans. Do that over there and they'll likely take away your license and toss you in jail for good measure.

After riding in a taxi and a bus in China it's hard for me to get excited about how we drive in the US.

+1 on the German approach, Greg.
Their regulation translates to "drive right", meaning if you're not passing, you move to the right lane. Period.
Courteous drivers here do the same.
Dumb butts don't.
