It's one of their unofficial consulates they've been throwing up in various areas.
Of course they are outraged that anyone would violate the sanctity of a diplomatic mission.

Their 'consulate' eh? More like a forward military staging point!
Yes, I'm angry about this. How this is not seen as an
overt declaration of war against both the Iranians and the United States
is beyond me. Just acknowledge the obvious, already!

Let the Iranians be angry. the real problem is that this happened in a Kurd-controlled city, and nobody told the Kurdish "militias" about it. Now the only (reasonably) solid allies we have in that country are mad at us.
