Lagos - Samuel Akinbode Sadela, Nigeria's oldest preacher at 107, said he derived his strength from God after marrying a 30-year woman, said his church member on Sunday.

After the wedding, they quoted him as saying: "The Lord is my strength. I am very strong and energetic." Sadela, founder of Gospel Apostolic Church, had been on the pulpit for 75 years.

He first got married in 1934, and the marriage lasted for 21 years, but none of the couple's seven children lived beyond their infancy.

A second marriage, consummated in 1965, was blessed with four children, but only two survived. His second wife died in 2001.

And then he met the new woman of his life, 77 years his junior.

His church said the marriage with Christiana Sadela was "a fulfilment of the scripture and worthy of thanksgiving and appreciation to God".

It said: "Nothing is impossible for God."

I can see him now on the viagara commercial with his smiling wife on his arm, his bible in one hand and holding a bottle of viagara up to the camera with the other, smiling a big happy, toothless grin and saying 'It said: "Nothing is impossible for God.", but with viagara, more things are probable!'

"Gospel Apostolic church" sounds pretty protestant Christian to me, given it could (in American parlance) be anything from standard protestant to black baptist (ish) to heavily charismatic, to hillbilly 'primitive' snake handlers and probably many I can't think of.
