Ah.  That looks more like bump firing to me.  When I hear "fanning" I think of fanning the hammer as can be done on single-action revolvers.

I may be using the terminology incorrectly, but I always regarded bump-fire to be holding your finger steady and letting the trigger rock against it. Fanning was rapidly moving your finger against the trigger (or hammer).
