Very convincing scientific proof - a guy took someone else's measurements of bones that have since been lost, and matched them against an estimate of Amelia Earhart's measurements - so it's downright conclusive evidence, good enough for any court.
From what I gather, few experts really accept this as real evidence. There has also been testimonial evidence she was captured by the Japanese, a few hundred witnesses claim to have seen her.
Last summer The History Channel ran a documentary supposedly revealing through a found photograph that she had been captured. While the photo did show Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan, it was later revealed the photo dated earlier than her disappearance. The History Channel wound up with egg on its face for not having thoroughly vetted the photo.
In any case, after about eight decades, one way or another, I sorta think Amelia is no longer with us.
