Our local news people did a story about how nutria have arrived in central Cal AND THEY'RE MOVING NORTH! Presumably in very tiny, chartered buses.

For those that live in nutria infested areas, what might I have to look forward to?

I'm not in the AG sector so I have no crops to worry about.

I'm likely not close enough to surface water to have any nearby. When everybody starts flood irrigating for the Summer crops and the return systems start filling up, acting as temporary ponds, maybe some will work their way over to my neck of the woods.

There are lots of nutria in the DFW area.  They look like big rats to me, and should be treated as such. i.e: night vision and a .22.

I find rabbit so-so. I love squirrel. I've never tried nutria but if they're in the muskrat/ beaver line of rodents as they would seem to be, they taste funny.
