I've got a gouge about the size of a half dollar in my vinyl flooring that needs to be patched. I've looked on the web, and I'm seeing two approaches, depending on the size of the damaged area:
1. Use "seam sealer" as a filler.
2. Cut out around the damaged section and glue down a piece cut from the same spot in the pattern from a spare piece.
I don't think the bad area is big enough to warrant #2 (especially since matching a pattern like that is way beyond my skill and patience); but seam sealer cures clear, and the area, naturally, is in a dark part of the pattern (with a bright white substrate underneath). The solution I'd like to use is to put some dye in the seam sealer. Is there such a thing?
