And the award for useless question of the day goes to...
« on: January 23, 2007, 08:50:13 AM »
...something I've often pondered.  And yes, I can look it up online, but that would take the deep thought-invoking "fun" out of it:

The song "Papa was a rolling stone".

The line: "And when he left, all he left us was...."

Was what?

"Alone"?
or "a loan"?

Both seem to fit.

These are the types of thoughts that keep me up at night.

That is all.

I always assumed "alone" since the song was from the 60s or 70s before people seemed to be mortgaged up to their eyeballs.

In the song all right now (70's) there is a line "let's move before they..............."

What is it?

"raise the parking rate"

...its a play on words - tying the rate people charge to park during the business day, (as opposed to nights or weekends) on inner city lots, and the euphamism of "parking" for making out in an automobile.
