By faking a split, the Church polarized Europe into two competing spheres to distract the hoi polloi while, behind the scenes, they continued their master plan for world domination...

I didn't know Dan Brown posted here.  That whole Da Vinci book was quite a stinker, by the way.  But, hey, you made a pile on it, so congratulations.
