Nothing new here.

Shot these for years before Iowa started to allow straight wall rifle cartridge for deer.

Similar but different. I would like to see a side by side comparison. The standard Lyman pellet shaped slug is the gold standard others are measured by.

take a look at these, I was going to start experimenting for a longer range slug for deer hunting before Iowa changed statutes on legal hunting firearms. The Lyman slug was a 200 yard minute of deer round for me, I was wanting something faster and flatter shooting. I have a custom 24" fully rifled barrel.

Ya need to wach that guy's channel that I posted. He has "real world" tested a TON of different slugs from production to custom made. The one I posted has a HUGE cavity/opening in it and flies great as well as hitting like a sledgehammer.

I killed on deer with a front chest shot and it exited out near the butthole. Deer was running hard at me, so I killed it, skidded about 25' next to me in the snow.

If I decide I need anything hotter than a regular old 3" slug I will just head over to TFL and see what the latest thing Ed Hubel has cooked up in is 12ga from hell project.

Most of my hunting rifles have more energy down range than a 12 gauge slug and a lot more accurate. .300 and .338 Win Mags.
