Harbor Fright Tools question
« on: December 24, 2018, 12:30:21 AM »
I've been thinking that it's time to add an old-fashioned arbor press to my workshop. Harbor Fright used to offer a 1/2-ton and a 1-ton version, and the primary reason I haven't already bought is that I kept vacillating on which size to buy. I just looked on the Harbor Fright web site, and all I can find is the 1-ton.

Does anyone know if they have discontinued the half-ton model?

Yes they have, it wasn't selling.

I know you didn't ask, but that's one place where I would skip harbor freight. The castings and front plates on those are pretty bad, and I've seen two fail on a guy.

$30 more will get you a Dayton off ebay.
