New Old Stuff in the Public Domain
« on: December 31, 2018, 10:52:44 AM »
Apparently 2019 is the first time in 20 years, due to some complex legal battles, that US material will be dropped into the public domain. Some good stuff from 1923. The first URL gives a synopsis of what's going on. The second URL is the only link I could find that has the whole list, but it is hanging and takes forever to open. I don't know if their servers are overloaded or what.  If someone else finds a full list URL that works better, please post.

WRT the duke link
Win7 IE11:

"This page can't be displayed"

On troubleshooting:

Duke is online but is not responding to requests

Multiple refreshes:  same.

duke.edu and law.duke.edu all ping OK.

???

Corporate publishers and broadcasters downloading the list?

WHATEVER YOUR DEFINITION OF "INFRINGE " IS, YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING IT.

The news story got picked up by multiple sources today, so probably just a traffic spurt. I was able to get to the site and download the excel file pretty quickly just a while ago.
