Cleaned it lately?
If you haven't, do yourself (and your home) a favor and pull it down and take a look.
Most people never think about them. I was getting ready to put a patch in the ceiling in my bathroom. When I installed the new fan a couple of years ago I moved it to the center of the room as there's a light on the new one.
When I got up to the ceiling I realized that a lot of the vents that I had vacuumed a few weeks ago were actually clogged. When I pulled the decorative cover off... OMG! Almost completely plugged with lint. Spent a couple of hours totally disassembling it and completely cleaning it.
It doesn't help that I smoke... I only smoke in my house in my bathroom. Washing the cover made me realize just how bright the light is when the lens isn't covered in tar and nicotine.
