Get used to it. I'm perfectly entitled to bash Kalifornia, because I'm a former resident of that alternate reality, and I did help to the best of my abilities while I was there. I spent 10 gawd-forsaken years stationed in that liberal cesspool called Sacramento, doing all sorts of off-duty wonderful things like teaching 5th grade science and being a shelter manager for all the people in Olivehurst who got washed out by the '97 floods. I got thank-you letters and my shadow box has an extra Humanitarian Service medal for my efforts. Yippee.
I was a range-safety officer in Placer County, and an NRA-certified instructor, part of my community service to bolster my military OPRs and PRF. I was very active in the Friends of the NRA dinners, and got fellow GIs on McClellan Air Force base involved in CMP shoots. I also had 2 attempted home invasion robberies and the State of Kalifornia trying to charge me for environmental impact fees on a previously-Kalifornia vehicle that met Kalifornia emissions. Bill Lockyer and Don "I can have a gun but you can't" Perata orchestrate SB23 and say my guns need to be registered. Phooey on that.
Then I had Deborah Ortiz send me a postcard with the majority of my gun collection represented, stating that they were icky-pooh and that she was determined to rid the streets of such bloodthirsty devices. When on the campaign trail, she actually came to my house in Citrus Heights and knocked on my door, pressing for votes. I quite politely asked if she would pose with me for a picture, but that she had to wait, I wanted her to hold my Kalashnikov and show my friends from back East what an anti-gunner really looked like. Too bad I didn't have my own camera ready to capture the dirty look she broadcast.
Rats leave sinking ships for good reason. Silicon Valley
used to be the shiznatt - even that's been outsourced and relocated. Call Dell customer support and see if you can figure out which Hindi dialect you're listening to. I'm surfing the web and viewing the posts on this forum, courtesy of the CHINESE parts in my IBM (now Lenovo - go look up who those foks are) Intellistation. My wife and I yanked our two adult stepsons out of Irvine and back to Florida because they were falling flat on their faces, paying $1,300/month for a 1-bedroom apartment that would cost $540/month here near Madison, WI. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that's a lose-lose proposition.
They shut down the nuclear power facility in Rancho Cordova because they didn't feel good about nuclear energy, and got huge subsidies in imported power as an incentive to mothball and then dismantle the reactor.
They deserved every single rolling blackout that came their way. The inmates are indeed running the asylum.
Wife #2 mentions every now and again that since I'm retired, perhaps we could move back to SoCal near her family. I tell her, quite sincerely, that if she goes, she goes alone, I can quite easily find a non-Kalifornian Wife #3. I've already experience that bliss-ninny hogwash once in this lifetime. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...
