When I was in the 7th grade my Social Studies teacher was a veteran and had endured the siege of Bastogne. I was a something of a miserable little *expletive deleted*it at that time and I deeply regret not having paid the man more attention and respect.

My Scoutmaster was in the Signal Corps in the Battle of the Bulge.  He brought back a Springfield 03XX? and an illegal as hell (in New York City) 9mm handgun.  I forgot the brand, but I'd recognize it if someone mentioned it.

I remember him showing it to us after swearing us to secrecy... NYC, once again.
