Remember the NewSpeak definition of lynching is multiple attackers against one, not, as many of you are probably mistaken, of an innocent person getting executed usually by hanging by a mob.

A decade and a half ago I was a little startled to see in my local small town paper the headline “VICTIM LYNCHED IN…” and to find out it was merely an ass beating and he was in the hospital with moderate injuries.
