Aftermarket Bicycle Engines
« on: November 03, 2020, 07:46:57 PM »
Anyone have a good link for an aftermarket bicycle engine kit suitable for a womens frame beach cruiser?

We've got an old beach cruiser bike sitting in a corner of the yard that I've been threatening to motorize for kicks.  I don't think the generic 60cc 2-stroke frame mount kit on Amazon is suitable for this, since the womens frame top tube interferes with the typical engine and fuel mount locations.  I'm thinking something more like the friction direct drive kits that mount over the rear tire.

I'd prefer 4-stroke to 2-stroke just so I don't have to fuss with premix, and AZ heat is hard on 2-strokes.  Then again, I don't see this getting flogged hard, especially with old school rigid suspension.  More of a toy.

You might look into electric as well.

The pedal assist bikes are a blast.

Several kits available out there.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
