Agreed.
Thank you for your service. My Dad served in Vietnam. One grandfather served in the Navy in WWII.

It has long puzzled me that a great many people fall all over themselves shouting out to
living
veterans on Memorial Day (one of my perennial rant topics), but none of them can be bothered to remember living veterans on Veterans Day.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I sent out "thank you" emails to the veterans I know.
A cousin of mine back in NY was the caretaker of the medals collected by our family during WW2. He passed away last August and I keep meaning to call his son (my nephew) and ask him about their disposition.
I was never in the Service, but I've always had an interest in military stuff and an admiration for those who've served.
So "Thank you for your service, Veterans."
Terry

Saluting back. U.S. Air Force, A-10 Crew Chief for 22 years. Was an awesome career. The pleasure was all mine.

Back at you all, even the Marines. I didn’t do much, got a free biscuit at McD. I gotta get better at this Terminal Lance free food planning.
My mom always wishes me a happy Memorial Day. A pet peeve for me, perhaps wishful thinking from her.
