I would submit that you can't lump everyone into the "armchair warrior" category. I believe there are vast numbers of people who simply haven't reached the "cross the line" point yet.
People have to get to a point where both losing the carrots (e.g., trips to Costco, Amazon deliveries, 401Ks) and accepting the sticks (e.g., lost jobs, lost homes, Attorney fees, jail time, taking a bullet) are less bad than giving up the life you knew.
While not in the military, I also took a sworn oath to the Constitution, which I consider a lifetime promise. I struggle with "the line" and how to respond, whether it's accepting things and laying low; clandestine insurrection like breaking laws (taxes, environmental laws, and similar), or picking up a rifle. So far it's been mostly the first and a little of the second.
