SWMBO had arthroscopic surgery on her knee. She's getting better quickly, FAR moreso than I ever did. She is SO tough physically, with such a high pain tolerance (almost to her detriment) that she had surgery Tuesday and insisted on going to Wed. dinner/choir practice at church.
So I'm babysitting/nursing feeding and medicating, and the History/Military channel options are dismal.
I see this VH-1 "Hangin' With" "Shaw Blades"...
Saw Blades? Wha'sis? Some new heavy metal group? Never heard'em.
Turns out it's Tommy Shaw (crystalline voice from '70's supergroup Styx) and Jack Blades (Night Ranger). They both were also in Damn Yankees with the Nuge.
I have to say: If you get a chance to spend 30 minutes watching this, and you have ANY enjoyment from '70's rock, or guitar work, acoustic rock, or just amazingly well-crafted music, you will NOT be sorry, and it's time well spent.
So what am I about to do that's DRASTIC?
For the first time in more years than I care to remember, I'm actually going to spend $Money on music.
Shaw-Blades has a new album out, "Influence", all of which are cover tunes, those kinds of tunes that ALL of us who play guitar just go "Oh, YEAH!" when we hear 'em. Here's the list:
1. Summer Breeze (great Seals & Crofts hit)
2. Time Of The Season (the Zombies per Rabbi)
3. Your Move (Yes) you'll know it when you hear it.
4. I Am A Rock (Paul Simon)
5. Lucky Man (ELP)
6. The Sound Of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel)
7. California Dreamin' (Mamas/Papas)
8. On A Carousel (Ron sez The Hollies)
9. Dirty Work (Steely Dan)
10. For What It's Worth (Buffalo Springfield sez caseydog)
11. Dance With Me (Seals & Crofts)
