Don't forget about

"We're out of food!  We won't be able to grow enough food!

There is probably other stuff about acid rain or other environmental calamities.

The hole in the ozone layer was supposed to kill us too.

The hole in the ozone layer was supposed to kill us too.

A guy I knew years ago said the hole was caused by the rockets. I've never seen a study in that but we are still here.

The hole in the ozone layer was supposed to kill us too.

The hole ended up being static over Antarctica and basically doesn't expose much of anything.

Yup, the fifties and sixties.  And then industrialized agriculture shot that one down.  Also nuclear Armageddon.

People always said we had enough nukes to destroy the world several times over.  I recall Rush pointed out someone looked at that and said it was only enough to raise the average background radiation by a small amount.  Lots of cities would be destroyed, but far from the whole world.

I can think of a number of  cities that would be suitable test subjects.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

What are they supposed to be?  A new "Mongol horde"?

My vote is for a new bio weapon designed to piggyback on the spike protein recognizing antibody we have all so conveniently stimulated in ourselves. (except the Chinese who supplied the blueprint for the spike, apparently they use some other vaccine.... ) Just a nice little ADE (Antibody Dependent Enhancement) event for anyone vaccinated who gets the new bug.  Lebensraum, Comrades!
