Check out the criminal justice program at your local college.  That can give you the educational path.

To a certain extent.

What capacity would you be interested in?
I do not smoke pot, wear Wookie suits, live in my mom's basement, collect unemployment checks or eat Cheetoes, therefore I am not a Ron Paul voter.

Abby from NCIS.

See what you started Carebear.  And see where I took it.  I can only imagine where we go from here.  This could get interesting.

I dated a girl in California who worked for the Orange County Sheriffs Coroners Office!
Does that count?
She even had a personalized license plate which read "OC4N6".
Only dated her once.........she wanted me to soak in a bathtub full of ice water before she'd sleep with me? shocked

The quickest and surest way to get into forensics is to die suddenly and mysteriously.

Check out your state local archeology organizations, they actually get into quite a bit of forensic recovery and can provide you with plenty of field work and connections. Coincidentally, my newsletter from the State Archeologist came today and it says they are looking for people with field experience and a BA to go to Brooklyn, NY to help screen WTC debris for remains and personal effects for the NYC medical examiners office. It don't get more forensic than that...

Jeez, leave it to this bunch to take a perfectly innocent possible-career-change-research thread and veer it in a completely pervy direction. I swear, can't take you guys anywhere-  rolleyes

El T- I think 280Plus got it. I'm thinking something along the lines of forensic archaeology/anthropology.

280Plus, Carebear- thanks for the tips.

TallPine- thanks, but I was thinking about looking into it as a practitioner, not a subject.

The bathtub full of ice water is part of the stolen-kidneys urban legend that refuses to die. Wink

I managed a USAF forensic lab for just over 7 years.  But we were looking for molecular and atomic-level evidence in order to track nuclear proliferators.  Very similar, but no DNA-sequencing, I'm afraid.
