New primer factory set to begin production later this year, based in the former Lone Star ammo plant.

The article mentions the big four manufacturers...

What's kind of concerning, though, is that three of those manufacturers are controlled by one company, Vista Outdoors.

Winchester/Olin is, as of right now, the only independent US manufacturer; Federal, CCI and Remington primers are all controlled by Vista Outdoors.

I really hope that they can make a go of it.

Who actually has primers (ideally CCI 200 large rifle primers as that’s what I’ve always used before) in stock these days?  Or is it still just a luck of the draw to find them?

Pretty much luck of the draw. When they are in stock online they’re scooped up in minutes
